about me

I'm Claire, I live in Manchester, England. I was born in the 80's and I love crochet. I also like music, eating, running and other crafty stuff.

When I was at primary school, I first learned how to crochet from a book at the library. Because it was back in the olden days and we didn't have the internets yet, I made a few granny squares and subsequently forgot all about crochet.

Fast forward a few decades: I found myself expecting twins and decided to make some baby blankets. Thank goodness for the, now well established, internet because I had actually forgotten all about crochet. I would never have gotten my head back round that witchcraft as an adult without all of the YouTube tutorials.

Not only did I reacquaint myself with this awesome craft, I found a world of inspiration, colour and generous sharing of skills and patterns (I'm looking at you Attic 24 Lucy).

I've made blankets (so many blankets, they're addictive and you get to snuggle up under them while you make them!), amigurumi toys, storage baskets and other practical items for my home, scarves, hats, jumpers, cactuses... the list is now endless.

Crochet has given me distraction and comfort in harder times, lead to some lovely virtual and actual real life friendships and has sparked a new chapter of creativity. Which brings me here now.

I love crochet

Just in case that wasn't obvious already, here is a photo of me in a crochet jumper, that I actually made.
